Tour Big Sur, our Spectacular Coast
Let's go to Big Sur! the famously beautiful stretch of Pacific Ocean coastline. We include stops in Monterey & Carmel as they're en route. The best view of the Big Sur coast (other than following a long hike) is from the terrace of the legendary Nepenthe restaurant or from the Post Ranch Inn's Sierra Mar restaurant, one of Zagat's highest rated. We can experience the most famous stretch of the Big Sur coast, near the Bixby Bridge, without going all the way to the tiny village of Big Sur proper--making for a somewhat shorter day. If you're a fan of the sui generis, you may choose to spend an extra hour to see the spectacular! McWay Waterfall, which drops eighty feet to the beach below.
Back in Carmel or Monterey--having stopped several times along the way to enjoy incomparable vistas--you can visit art galleries, an old Spanish mission church, historic Cannery Row, Clint Eastwood's B&B or a world-class Aquarium. Unlike with other companies, if the fog is thick and unrelenting, you won't spend hours peering through a gray mist: we'll seek out other activities for your enjoyment. We also can feature a winery visit or arrange for a walking tour by a local expert. No one lucky enough to see Big Sur on a clear day fails to say "Wow!"
What will it COST?
Because each tour is designed to fit your interests, our fees vary. Basically you pay by the number of hours in your itinerary. We do not add the fuel surcharges, "license fees," "tax" and mandatory gratuities that many other companies do.
